Human App Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy (also referred to herein as “Policy”) describes how Human App, referred to herein also as “us,” “our,” or “we,” collect use, store, and share your information when you (also referred to as “your”) (1) access and/or use our mobile application (“Human App”) and (2) communicate (“Communicate”) with us in any manner, including by email, direct messaging, telephone and/or in person (“Communications”).


What Type Of Information Do We Collect?


The Human App is intended to provide users with a sovereign identity on the Human Network and requires information necessary for compliance with the “Know Your Customer” procedure. This means that we may collect information that you voluntarily provide to us when you use the Human App for such verification services. We may also collect certain information about your device in order for the Human App to interact with your device. We may also collect information that you provide to us directly through Communications.

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Basic Identifying Information: Your name, email address, personal ID code; face data, selfie photo, date of birth, etc.

  • Demographic Information: Citizenship.

  • Device Information: Device identifier and other unique identifiers.

  • User Content. Information such as images of your face and your Communications with us and any other content you provide voluntarily.


How Do We Collect Your Information?


We collect your information in three ways: (1) directly from you when you use the Human App and Communicate with us; (2) automatically using online technologies when you engage with the Human App; and (3) from third party sources.

  • Directly From You. We collect information directly from you when you enter your information on the Human App, including when creating an account, use our services, access our content and engage in Communications with us.

  • Automatically Using Online Technologies. When you use the Human App, we or third parties may automatically collect certain information about you using online tracking technologies and automatic logs.

  • From Third Party Sources. We collect information from our third party partners, such as publicly available sources, fraud prevention service providers, and vendors that provide services to us.


How Do We Use Your Information?


Personal data may be used to:

  • Operate and manage our products and services including to facilitate identity verification and enhance security protocols;

  • Authorize users to open an account with Human App;

  • Respond to user queries or complaints;

  • Contact user;

  • Process and facilitate transactions and services;

  • Maintain account security through measures such as 2FA;

  • Prevent and address fraud, breach of policies or terms, and threats or harm.

  • Analyze user behavior and trends in the Human App and to improve its performance;

  • Inform the user of products and offers that may be of interest, including from third-party organizations if user has agreed to allow for this type of information to be sent to him;

  • Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations; to establish and exercise our rights; and to defend against legal claims.

Notwithstanding the above, we may use information that does not identify you (including information that has been aggregated or de-identified) for any purpose except as prohibited by applicable law. For information on your rights and choices regarding how we use information about you, please see the “Your Rights and Choices” section below.


Who May Receive Your Information?


We may disclose or share your information with affiliated and non-affiliated third parties, including in the following scenarios:

  • With your Consent. We may disclose or share your information with your consent, which may be obtained in writing; online, or through “click-through” agreements; when you accept the terms of use on the Human App; orally, either in person or on the phone; or by other means.

  • In a Business Transfer. We may disclose or share your information as part of a corporate business transaction, such as a merger or acquisition, joint venture, corporate reorganization, financing, or sale of company assets, or in the unlikely event of insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership, in which such information could be transferred to third parties as a business asset in the transaction.

  • To Non-Affiliated Third Parties. We may disclose or share your information with certain non-affiliated third parties to facilitate your access and use of the Human App, and to provide us with certain business functions, including but not limited to sharing your information with brand partners, internet service providers, advertising networks, data analytics providers, governmental entities, operating systems and platforms, social medial networks, and service providers who provide us a service (• e.g., customer service, facial recognition, auditing, marketing, debugging to identify and repair errors that impair functionality on the Human App, and/or protecting against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity).

  • For Legal Process And Protection. We may disclose or share your information to satisfy any law, regulation, legal process, governmental request, or where we have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary: (1) to enforce or apply our agreements; (2) to protect our interests, property, or safety of others; (3) in connection with claims, disputes or litigation; and (4) to protect the Human App.


Third-Party Resources


The Human App may be utilized in connection with third-party sites and resources (“Third-Party Resources”) that are not under our control, and are governed by their own terms of use and privacy policy. Users are advised to familiarize themselves with the applicable terms of use and privacy policies for Third-Party Resources. Please read their privacy policies before you submit any data to them. Our Privacy Policy does not apply to these third-party entities but to the Human App only.


Your Rights And Choices


Account Information: You may access, update, or remove certain information that you have provided to us through your account by visiting your account settings or sending an email to the email address set out in the “Changes and Queries” section below. We may require additional information from you to allow us to confirm your identity. Please note that we will retain and use information about you as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Human App:

  • Do Not Track: We do not monitor or take action with respect to “Do Not Track” signals. For more information on “Do Not Track,” visit http://www.allaboutdnt.com.

  • Collection: You can stop all collection of information by the Human App by uninstalling the Human App.

Communications:

  • E-mails: You can opt-out of receiving promotional emails from us at any time by following the instructions as provided in emails to click on the unsubscribe link, or emailing us at the email address set out in the “Changes and Queries” section below with the word UNSUBSCRIBE in the subject field of the email. Please note that you cannot opt-out of non-promotional emails, such as those about your account, transactions, servicing, or our ongoing business relations.

  • Push Notifications: If you have opted-in to receive push notification on your device, you can opt-out at any time by adjusting the permissions on your device or uninstalling the Human App.

Please note that your opt-out is limited to the email address, device and phone number used and will not affect subsequent subscriptions.


Children


The Human App is not directed towards, nor was it designed to attract the attention of, any children, and we do not knowingly collect or maintain personal information from any person under the age of thirteen.


Security


We take all commercially reasonable steps to ensure your information is protected in alignment with all applicable laws and regulations, as appropriate to the sensitivity of your information.


Retention And Storage Of Data


We keep your information for as long as is necessary in accordance with the purpose for which it was collected, our business needs, and our legal and regulatory obligations; except that we store face data for a period of one (1) year from the date such face data is collected. If we dispose of your information, we will do so in a way that is secure and appropriate to the nature of the information subject to disposal.


Fraud, Phishing And Email Scams


Please be notified that Human is not in any partnership with entities who represent themselves as customer support agents, providing customer support services via email and/or social media and promising to help solve your issues for money. If you have discovered what you believe is a fraud, phishing, or scam which impersonates Human, be sure to contact support@joinhuman.com as soon as possible.


Changes And Queries


This Privacy Policy is subject to change at the sole discretion of Human. Users will be informed of any major changes to the Policy, and we encourage users to check the Policy from time to time for minor changes as they see fit. Changes will typically be due to operational, legal, or regulatory circumstances.
